Coronation Street’s Michael LeVell Shops for Rolex Watches With Rarely Seen Fiancée Louisa Gibbons
MICHAEL Le Vell was spotted buying a luxury Rolex watch with his fiancée Louise Gibson in Manchester.
The Coronation Street star visited the luxury jewelry and watch retailer with Louise who was spotted looking at the watch on her wrist as she left the store.
Dressed in a red jumpsuit under a denim waistcoat, Louise looked summery alongside her man who wore a white polo shirt and dark blue shorts.
The couple stopped to chat with the Big Issue salesman outside the store, then handed him some cash.
Rolex watches start at the exorbitant price of £4,500 and can cost up to £34,000.
While Coronation Street salaries are a state secret, Michael earns significantly more than mechanic Kevin Webster, with an estimated salary of around £170,000.
Its financial health is improving after overcoming a bankruptcy drama in 2019.
Michael was officially released after being broke for the previous year.
The actor was initially declared bankrupt after his debts spiraled out of control following his divorce from wife Janette Beverley.
However, The Mirror reported that official documents revealed that Michael – whose real name is Michael Robert Turner – had the order lifted in January 2019.
Sources at the time claimed Michael’s unpaid bill was a “six-figure sum”, after he paid £200,000 in legal fees following his child abuse trial in 2013.
Although the court found Michael not guilty, Justice Department rules mean that people who can afford their defense cannot receive tax-funded reimbursements as a result of a case.
This means that Michael had to shell out his fees out of his own pocket.
A friend of the star previously revealed Michael’s wife Janette was in charge of their finances during their 25-year marriage.
They said: “She controlled the purse strings, so he kept it in line.
“Now he is alone, everything has gotten out of control.”
Michael, who joined Corrie in 1983, will stay with the Cobbles for at least a year after signing a big deal earlier this year.
Michael was suspended from the show in 2013 while fighting sex offense charges, but returned in 2014 when he was found not guilty.
Later that year, he took time off to deal with personal issues, including alcoholism and cocaine use, but has remained on the soap ever since.
