Gian Sale at White Sulfur Springs Ranch scheduled for August 13; wanted items

Submitted by John Lullo

The annual rummage sale is set for Saturday, August 13, between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., at the historic White Sulfur Springs Ranch (WSSR) in Clio. This will be the fourth annual event at the ranch site at 2200 Highway 89, just south of the intersection with the A15. During the pandemic years, this event was the single most important fundraiser that kept the restoration of the historic property on track. He’s back and bigger and better than ever.

The Mohawk Valley Stewardship Council (MVSC) is asking the community to donate items for sale. Donations will be accepted at the ranch site on Friday and Saturday, August 5 and 6, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Particularly welcome items are gently used household items, small appliances, art decoration, collectibles, jewelry, hand tools and small power tools. For furniture and items requiring special handling, donors should call ahead for approval. Items that cannot be accepted are computers, televisions, mattresses and bedding, clothing, shoes, car seats, exercise machines and books. There will be no price tags. The MVSC depends on buyers to provide reasonable offers. There may be suggested minimums for high value or unusual items.

Items for sale will be displayed inside and outside the old ranch house. As Covid rules change, attendees should be prepared to mask up before entering.

Tours of the newly renovated ranch will be available between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on the day of the sale. For more information about White Sulfur Springs Ranch, including membership opportunities and brick purchases, visit the website at

All sales are final. For questions regarding the event and special donations, please call Nancy at 530-836-0311 or Judy at 530-836-0254. The MVSC is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization.
