Western Sydney gets Monster Surf Park with lagoon, skate park and rooftop bar

The rumors are true. West Sydney is set to be home to a mega surf park full of cafes, rooftop bars, yoga studios and hot tubs. So when can you move in?

Double URBNSURF, it was imagined by the same crew behind Australia’s very first surf park, which has been making waves (literally) in Melbourne’s Tullamarine since 2019. As for what awaits the Sydney version, the water park will take its place. in Sydney’s Olympic Park neighborhood, sporting a diamond-shaped lagoon that’s about the size of the Sydney Cricket Ground.

The lagoon will produce glassy, ocean-perfect waves that swell up to two meters in height and appeal to surfers of all skill levels, even those of you with little or no experience on the shaka front. .

Without the magic of winds and tides, URBNSURF creates its waves using the super impressive Wavegarden “Cove” technology, with waves generated every eight seconds. You can even surf after dark thanks to the LED lighting that makes the water shine.

And, if you thought URBNSURF was just a fancy wave machine, think again. While this gigantic surf park will undoubtedly attract the attention of wave surfers around Sydney, it also transforms into a mega hub of wellness, convenience and tasty antics. You will pretty much have beach cabanas, hot tubs, rooftop bars, workspaces, licensed cafes, skate parks, and recreational pools.

Construction of the URBNSURF in Sydney is expected to start towards the end of 2021 with the idea that the surf park could open in summer 2022. More information is here.
