In the Southlands, Sauron’s devious schemes were revealed when Roundir awoke among a horde of defiant orcs – brilliantly bestial in both manner and design. Alongside his fellow elves Medhor and Revion, he has been set to work building what is likely to become that desolate hellscape known as Mordor.

Elsewhere, Galadriel and Halbrand have been pulled from the Separating Seas by Elendil (Lloyd Owen) and escorted to the realm of Númenor. The elven warrior received a chilling reception, while Halbrand started a fight with some stuck Númenórean who approached Game of Thrones territory – hence the episode’s 15 certificate!

What are we going to learn about the Stranger now that he’s befriended the Harfoot family, the Brandyfoots? And who the hell is the orc leader Adar? Could one of them be Sauron in disguise, hoping to fool our heroes?
